Our campsite lies amidst the landscapes of the Haute-Loire which is situated between the modern city of St Etienne and the medieval town of Le Puy-en-Velay, and an hour’s drive from Lyon. In a valley on the banks of the Dunière river, an excellent fishing river, and at the heart of a network of more than 3000 miles of hiking and mountain walking itineraries, the Vaubarlet campsite welcomes you to 35 acres of green pastures surrounded by wooded hills.
Whether you opt for traditional camping or caravanning or one of our rental structures (Chalets, Cottages or Safari lodge) you will experience each morning the benefits of a bowlful of pure air. It is our wish that the Camping Sites et Paysages de Vaubarlet should be an ideal place for you to spend time with your children. It is a family campsite where youngsters can spend unforgettable holidays thanks to the Children's Club and the Games Area and parents can benefit from the serene and calm atmosphere to recharge their batteries.

Over 300 volcanoes have shaped the Haute-Loire region and carved out its character. Lush green valleys, unspoilt gorges, rounded peaks, ancient lava flows and even basalt columns form the stunning landscapes that make the Haute-Loire region a paradise for hikers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. And there are hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the Haute-Loire region. The most famous of these is the GR65: a route followed by pilgrims heading to the Way of Saint James (Santiago de Compostela). In the heart of this protected natural setting, Haute-Loire is home to a wealth of heritage including its crown jewel, the UNESCO-listed Puy-en-Velay. With the campsite as your base, you can head off to explore Corbusier’s modern architecture in Firminy and the mediaeval fortress of Polignac perched on its rocky outcrop.
